Random | Mean Girls

Who else other than myself has watched this movie more than you can count? I know it's a possibility I can be alone on this one. If you can relate awesome, if not, you may not want to continue. You can't say I didn't warn you! ;p

Anyway, tomorrow (tomorrow being Wednesday 4/30, for all my international readers) marks the 10th year anniversary since the movie released! It doesn't mean a whole lot, other than it is still a popular movie, even after all this time.

So to honor the anniversary a lot of Mean Girls fans are wearing pink, to mimick the so called "Plastics". If you've watched the movie you willl remember how the little group wore pink every Wednesday.

I may, or may not wear pink tomorrow. It honestly all depends on whether I remember. Also it might just happen on it's own. I have tons of pink in my closet to begin with, so there is a huge chance I may wear pink.

Well I thought I would share, considering I had no idea it has been that long since the movie came out & for all my fellow Mean Girls lovers to join in on the anniversary fun. :)

Enjoy, leave a comment below if you plan to join in on the anniversary mini celebration!

Until Next Time,
Avie T.

Beauty | My Holy Grail Mascara Combo

So recently I was nominated for the Liebster Award (Click Here For More Info) and one of the questions I answered was asking whether I prefer mascara or eyeliner. Of course I chose mascara, it is a must have, and if I don't wear anything else, I have mascara on. So it sparked the idea for me to share my holy grail mascara products with you all. :)

Random | I've Been Nominated | Liebster Award

Hi Guys!! I am so honored to have been nominated for the Liebster Award, this was my first time hearing about this and I had to admit, when I heard award, I got all excited (even though I had no idea what it was). When I read more information about it, I thought it was such an awesome award to be nominated for! So I had to go ahead and proceed with the next steps!

I want to give a huge thanks to the lovely Ms. Varinder from Make Up Me and Yoyo for nominating me for this award.

 The rules of the game:

2. Display the award on your blog.

Memories | Throwback Thursday #2

Memory is defined as the mental capacity or faculty of retaining and reviving facts, events, impressions, etc., or of recalling or recognizing previous experiences.

Recently I blogged about Throwback Thursday, and I found it very interesting and a neat way to share some of my history. So I thought I would share some more Throwback Thursday posts (& I may make this a reoccuring post with a theme).

This week's Throwback Thursday Theme is going to be friends. I have tons of pictures with friends, but I thought I would start with a couple for today.

The photo above was taken at a wedding photo booth. The wedding was one of our good friends (both bride and groom are really close friends of my hubby and I) & they had a photo booth at the reception! Let me tell you the photo booth was so fun & it was really cool to see how silly everyone got. The cool thing about the photo booth was the photos were uploaded digitally online, so we all were able to retrieve our photos easily & we also received a print out after we took a few snaps! It was a great wedding and I would never forget the day! :)

The photo below is my very bestest friend (aka Sissy to me) & I at the swimming pool. We are super silly and always have been. This pic pretty much sums up our relationship and what we are like together. ;p What is really funny about this photo is we didn't even pose for it, it just happened.

Well I hope you all enjoyed this little throwback Thursday post & please share some of your throwbacks with me in the comments! I would love to share memories with you all! :D

Random | Beauty Blogger Tag

I wasn't personally tagged but saw it on Hailey's Beauty Blog and I'm going to give this one a go and let you guys learn a little more about me.

Name a beauty routine you rarely do.
I rarely wear foundation. =]

Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?

Ummm, not regularly. Mainly because I don't use too many brushes regularly, so I don't need to clean them as often.

How long will you last with chipped nail varnish?

Not long at all! I can't stand when my polish chips. I tend to go natural, especially when I know I won't keep up the maintenance.

How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty or nail polish product even if you need it (i.e. topcoat, foundation, etc)?

Not long at all. I actually have an abundance amount of make up, more than I probably need. =]

What is your worst beauty habit?

I would have to say not shaving my legs regularly or not replacing old eyeliners. I just can't get rid of them!

Name something non beauty related that you put off all the time.

Studying! eeek. =\

When going out somewhere do you leave getting ready to the last minute or not?

Lets see, when it comes to getting ready for work, I wait til the super last minute. When it comes to going out with the hubs or "FUN" stuff, I take my time. hehe ;p

Can you commit to spending bans?

Yes I can, mainly when I know I have a solid goal at the end.

How organised are your makeup and nail polish collections?

Makeup: somewhat organized. Its organized enough for me, with everyday products easily accessible and not often used products stored away.

Nail Polish: VERY organized.

What is the longest time you have gone without writing a blog post?

I just started, so my breaks haven't been that long, but I would say maybe 1 1/2 weeks... give or take a few days.

This tag was originally created by The Beauty Bow.

Anyone who wants to give this tag a go, be my guest! Share your tags with me in the comments! I would love to learn more about you all also!

Random | My Thoughts

Today marks my last official day of class for the semester. Let me explain: I've been taking college classes online and today is my proctored final exam. I'm beyond ready for class to be over, so I can take a break before I start summer courses. Working a full time job, that is demanding in time, and going to school can take its toll, but I have to remind myself it will be worth it in the end.

I find education important, it isn't just a way to possibly get you or secure yourself a job, it is a way to learn. As humans we all learn everyday, whether we realize it or not. I find people who are educated and intellectually sound fascinating. Some college students can't stand the endless classes that go toward their General Associates, and I will admit I can be one of those sometimes, but I try to take those times to learn about these random subjects I may never use again. For Example: Music Appreciation, and  learning all about music and the history. I probably won't use that class or information again, but since I've taken the class, I have a different light on music and understand some of it better. I have also gained a huge appreciation for classical or what some would call "old school" music.

Generally music has always been a large part of my life. I listen to it everyday, I use to be in choir and still enjoy singing, and music is background noise in movies. So to learn the background and how different parts of music came into this world was truly interesting. Again, I may never use this information in my job, but I can use it in conversations. I could possibly be put into a conversation and actually have something to add or maybe just understand what they are saying.

With all that said, I enjoy learning. I enjoy growing intellectually and hope to one day be that person I find fascinating.

Memories | Throw Back Thursday

As many of you have seen on Instagram (where it started) and Facebook, Twitter, etc, Throw Back Thursdays are quite poplar. You can see a range of time frames, anywhere from a couple days ago to years ago. I always find these posts interesting, especially if they are from way in the person's past. I enjoy them for many reasons, whether is getting to know a little piece of that person, or just seeing what they looked like back then, or sharing memories with each other. I also commend the ones who post throw back Thursday photos of themselves that are meant to stay in the photo albums (if you catch my drift, the easily embarrassed ones), not all of us are that brave.

Random | 6th Anniversary

Cheers to our 6th wedding anniversary! Sometimes I forget exactly how long we have actually been together, because time just flies by these days. I am thankful and so extremely happy that over the years I can say we have grown together as a couple and individually. Not many people can say that, but I know I can. Of course it hasn't been an easy road to get to where we are today, but I can truly say that we are completely happy with the way things have turned out for us. With all the hard work and dedication, everything else laid its course.

True love may be a hard thing to find for some and easy for others, I am grateful I was able to find my true love, my soul mate, and best friend at a young age. We were lucky to have all these years with each other and look forward to many more. As each day passes, I thank the Heaven above for sending me this angel and allowing me to have him in my life.

Happy Anniversary my love! =)

Random | National Sibling Day

As I saw all the posts on Facebook and Instagram of National Sibling Day, I thought I need to join in on this! I have one little sister (not little as in size, but little as in younger) that can be a pain in my a** (just like any other sibling can be). Even though there are times when I want to strangle her (sisterly love, I swear), I love her to death! I would protect her with my life if I ever had too. Nonetheless, here is my National Sibling Day photo I shared on Instagram.

We were on our way to visit the university my husband is attending, which happens to be about 2 hours away, so we treated it as a mini road trip! =)

Random | April Fools 2014

I wanted to take a moment of my day to share this very funny April Fools prank that some students did to their professor.

As I was going through my Facebook feed, I stumbled upon this prank and I couldn't help but think about how my April 1st went. It was a typical day and no pranks were played at all. I never worry about the pranks, because if they happen, I just take them in good faith. Someone else on my FB feed posted something along the lines of "We all must be grown up now, no one pranked me." & it made me think the same way. Whether we all are grown up or not, we all love some humor.

So... nonetheless, I thought this prank was funny & I thought I would share it with you all! Enjoy! =)

Memories | New Jersey Vacation

Reminisce is defined as indulging in an enjoyable recollection of past events.

Today I was thinking about the vacation my husband and I took last year in December. We went to New Jersey to visit family (FINALLY meeting his brothers, sister-n-law, brother's girlfriend, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandma, and nieces for me) and took a weekend trip to New York.

We spent most of our vacation in New Jersey, visiting family all around the state, went to the Jersey Shore and the Boardwalk (even though it was in the middle of the winter), & enjoying all the diners they had (considering back home, we don't have diners). One thing I do wish we did, was take a ton more pictures! =/

Most of our trip was full of snow and bared the true definition of winter. The snow for us southerners was something we had to get use too, although I can say it wasn't too bad to look at. Thankfully, the snow didn't hold onto the roadways for too long, which made traveling by vehicle much easier and less scarier. I sure did enjoy visiting New Jersey, because I have never been, but I can say I was ready to see the sunny 75 degree weather back home.

Driving over the water bridge to Jersey Shore had me thinking about the MTV show Jersey Shore and I caught myself trying to pinpoint different landmarks I might have seen on the show. Well that didn't work too, considering I haven't watched the show in who knows how long and everything on TV looks different in person.

Going to the boardwalk in the middle of the winter was an experience all in its own. It wasn't hustling and bustling compared to summer time, it was the complete opposite. I actually enjoyed it, mainly because we were able to walk around and take in the views without any disruptions. Sadly, we made our visit to the boardwalk a year after the hurricane had destroyed the iconic Ferris wheel and the majority of the boardwalk, but it was still amazing to see in person nonetheless.

It was quite interesting for us to see snow on the the beach. We are so use to the beaches in Florida only having pretty tan sand, so it was nice surprise to see on the Jersey Shore. I also thought those benches were pretty cool. The back side was reversible, so you were able to face the beach or the stores, which I thought was convenient.

We spent a while admiring the newly built boardwalk. Although it had been many years since my husband had seen it and I have never been before, we had nothing to compare it too, we still found the reconstruction amazing. It was a really awesome idea to etch the names into the boardwalk themselves, we weren't sure if the names were the major people who donated, or citizens affected by the hurricane, or the store owners who lost their stores. Nonetheless, it was nice to incorporate their names into the boardwalk itself.

I enjoyed our vacation, it was our first one together in the whole 8 years we have been together! We plan to take many more, at least once every year, because we both realized how much we love to travel and explore! I will continue to hold on to all our memories in New Jersey & only hope to go back again soon.

To be continued... =)

The Little Things | Thank Yous

So this past Saturday my husband & I spent the morning volunteering for the MS SIDS Alliance.

This alliance is incredible, because it was founded by a woman who had lost her 3 month old daughter to SIDS. If you are not aware what SIDS is, its an acronym that stands for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Doctors are unaware what causes this syndrome and why it happens to infants. This woman and her husband had lost their daughter when there wasn't any type of support, as far as grievance, funeral arrangements, & etc. She then created this Alliance that helps/supports others who have lost their babies to SIDS. They don't only focus on SIDS but offer help to any parent that lost a child. My friend personally when through a loss and they offered their hand in anything they could help with. It was touching and amazing the type of help that was offered.

On Saturday they had a fundraiser/event called Walk for Babies. One of my husband's co-workers is a member of this alliance and had mentioned the event and invited anyone to come and volunteer or just walk in it. So my husband and I chose to volunteer. It was the least I could do to thank them for their support for my friend. We ended up being the popcorn poppers! =) They had just bought a machine for popcorn and we went to work on popping the popcorn for all the supporters. It was a blast!

Let me tell you, this event was amazing. The turn out (even though it was EARLY, FREEZING, & WINDY) was unbelievable! I had an incredible time and enjoyed seeing all the people come and show their support for this alliance.

Well today I was checking the mail and saw we had an envelope from MS SIDS Alliance. I was a little shocked because I didn't expect anything from them in the mail. When I opened it and saw that it was a thank you card and two bookmarks for volunteers, I was beyond grateful.

The little things, such as a thank you, makes me so happy and we didn't need a thank you whatsoever, but the thought that they think we did is an awesome feeling. We will definitely be back next year and cant wait to volunteer/support for other events!

If you are interested in this alliance and would like information please visit their website MS SIDS Alliance. All the members of this alliance are awesome and incredible! Pay them a visit and show them some support!

Much love all! =)

New Find | Maybelline Color Tattoo: Seashore Frosts

The other day I was in Walgreens just browsing the makeup aisles and most Walgreens have separate stands for all the new make up. Well I stumbled upon the stand with all the new Maybelline items & saw these gorgeous color tattoos!

I was immediately drawn to all of the shades! The iridescent shades were so amazing, I just had to pick one up. I thought before I buy them all, I should give just one of them a try. So I picked up the shade Seashore Frosts, its a blueish color with a gold undertone. I figured with the gold undertone, it would compliment my skin tone better than a cooler undertone would.

After opening the packaging, the color was so much more intense when open compared to looking at it through the glass. I knew instantly that I was going to love this color, just by the first look.

Like most of the Maybelline Color Tattoos, the creamy consistency was on point. This one was actually more creamy and smooth feeling than the first collection. After I did a swatch of the product, I was completely blown away by the color! It was so much more than I was thinking it was going to be and blew all my expectations out of the water! The color is so gorgeous and is so wearable as an everyday eye look.

The photo doesn't do the swatch any justice. When the shade hit the light it turned into a gold copper color that was unbelievable, but when the light isn't shining on it, it stayed that blueish color (which is kind of noticeable in the photo).

Seashore Frosts is a definite must have! I would reccommend picking this shade up as soon as you can. I believe this is a limited edition and will be going way once the season is over or when they are out of stock.

I will be heading back to Walgreens, Ulta, Walmart, or where ever I need to go to get the rest of this collection!

With that being said, stay tuned for more first impressions and new product reviews!

With much love, until next time! =]
