Beauty | My Holy Grail Mascara Combo

So recently I was nominated for the Liebster Award (Click Here For More Info) and one of the questions I answered was asking whether I prefer mascara or eyeliner. Of course I chose mascara, it is a must have, and if I don't wear anything else, I have mascara on. So it sparked the idea for me to share my holy grail mascara products with you all. :)

I don't usually like using only one mascara. The main reason for that is most mascaras are usually only good at one of  the things I want a mascara to do (if that makes any sense at all). For example one mascara may lengthen, while another will add volume. I personally like to have both, being the reason why I choose to combine two different ones.

With all the said, I love combining L'oreal's Voluminous Full Definition mascara and Rimmel's Lash Accelerator together.

When applying I add L'oreal's first to boost my lashes from the lash line all the way to the tips. Doing this adds the volume I love and adds a layer for the Rimmel mascara to adhere too.

After applying one layer of L'oreal's mascara, I add a second layer using the Rimmel mascara. Doing this adds a little more length and separates my lashes real well. I am not a fan of the "spider" type lashes, so I love how the Rimmel mascara separates and adds length at the same time.

As you can see in the photo above the L'oreal mascara wand has a fuller type wand, this helps with adding volume to the lashes from the base to the tips. While the Rimmel wand has a sparse wand, it does amazing at separating and adding length.  I usually apply one coat of Rimmel mascara while focusing mainly on the tips and when I'm done, I use the little product that is left on the wand to help separate the lashes. Doing this allows me to add length, but separates the lashes at the same time. It also helps me avoid getting too much product on the lashes, which can make them clumpy.

The photo above is how my lashes look after just two coats of mascara. I love how long they look, but still looking somewhat natural and not clumpy.

Please share you holy grail mascaras with me in the comments below! I would love to give recommended products a try! Who knows I may find a new holy grail combo! :)

  1. Fantastic post Avie :D
I've never thought of combining two mascaras before but now you have me wanting to give it a whirl.
And the results you gain are awesome. You have very beautiful eyes xx
My fave mascara at the moment is Max Factors Extreme Volume mascara. It's a two step mascara that kind of lengthens and adds volume but no where near as good as yours :)

I may have to give the Max Factor mascara a go! It might work as a replacement for one of my two! We shall see! ;)

  2. Great post! Mascara is the one thing my face feels naked without--it does wonders! I've had great results with eyelash primer. I randomly got one as a free gift at Estee Lauder and cannot rave about it enough. Thanks for the 2 mascara tip!
