Favorite Decade | #BEDM Day 17

If you are anything like me and love to look back at fashion trends from different decades, this post is most definetly for you! We are going to take a look at the fashion going around in the 1920s, when the "Flapper girl" style was becoming really popular. I find this decade for fashion one of my favorites. It was the time when fashion for women broke out of the "concealed" statements and the majority of the clothing were super frilly and blingy.

I guess you can say that movie The Great Gatsby helped renew my love for 1920s. The movie made the "flapper girl" style and all the hit parties seem so appealing. Another thing I like about the 20s is the form fitting dresses. They are form fitting but not overly tight. They shape well to a women's curves, but aren't overly tight where it's unappealing.

The coats had a renewed look to them also. They strayed away from the normal front fastening type look and started fastening on the sides. You can see this style on a lot of coats today, whether it is zippered or buttoned on the side, the style is inspired by the 20s coats.

The well known T-strap shoes came into play in the 20s also. I love the style of 20s heels period, but the T-strap is one of my favorite styles on all types of shoes. I love T-strapped wedges, sandels, heels, & flats. The list could go on when it comes to shoes.

Anyway, those are a few reasons why I love the 20s. The list could go on, but if you have watched the movie The Great Gatsby, you would understand why I love the 20s. If you haven't watched that movie yet, I totally recommend. :)

Share your favorite decade with me in the comments below. I would love to hear what decade makes it on your favorites list and why!

Until Next Time,
Avie T.
